A lingering illness extending over the past several years claimed the life of Mrs. Emma McFerran, 78, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Worick, here Tuesday eveing. A complication of diseases was the cause of her death. Mrs. McFerran had lived in this community the past 20 years and was widely known. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was born in Kentucky July 11, 1860, the daughter of Levi and Amanda Hall. She was married in 1878 to Martin McFerran, who died in 1911. Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Worick, at whose home she died, Mrs. Effie Allen of this place and Mrs. Charles Silvey of near here; two sons; Albert McFerran of Greencastle and Chesley McFerran of near Bainbridge, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Chastain funeral home.
